Skopje, 26 July - UNFPA, the United Nations Population Fund and the State Statistical Office signed in Skopje Memorandum of Understanding with the purpose of strengthening the national capacities for population data collection, analysis, dissemination and use for policy development.

During the next three years, the United Nations Population Fund will provide technical support for enhancing the population statistic, including the census. The mutual cooperation continues when it comes to raising awareness and population knowledge about the importance of the official statistic. In addition, there is a continuous dialog with the non-governmental sector about population data.

The overall purpose of this MOU and objective of the cooperation is to ensure monitoring progress in implementation of national policies and strategies related to social inclusion and reproductive health of adolescents, women and men in the country, and other national and international commitments, in line with the United Nations Partnership for Sustainable Development for the period 2016-2020 signed between the Government and the United Nations Country Team in the country.
