Skopje, December 15, 2022 – Presentation and discussion of preliminary conclusions from the revision of the National Strategy for Demographic Policies 2015-2024 with the support of the United Nations Population Fund – UNFPA North Macedonia, was held today in Skopje. Representatives of the national institutions, led by the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy (MLSP) North Macedonia, discussed the overall past and future cooperation in dealing with demographic trends and challenges, and in coordination with the main stakeholders at the institutional and expert level.

“The Ministry of Labor and Social Policy is the holder and coordinator of policies related to demographic development. We have a Strategy for Demographic Development that was adopted for the first time in 2008, which has been revised with technical and expert assistance from the UNFPA Country Office in North Macedonia, and a new one has been prepared for the period 2015-2024. As an institution, until now we have realized numerous projects with the support of your Office in Skopje within the regional strategy of UNFPA for population policies,” stated Resmi Ejupi, MLSP State Secretary.

This workshop is the basis for the further process of revising the strategy and preparing a new one through an integrated approach to demographic development and clearly defined competencies.
