Sarajevo, November 14, 2022 – The regional forum “Building Youth-Friendly Cities in a World of 8 Billion People”, in the presence of 120 mayors, representatives of municipalities, youth officials from local-self government, and experts from 47 cities in 13 countries, including North Macedonia, was held in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, organized by UNFPA.
Representatives of UNFPA, the United Nations Population Fund in North Macedonia led the national delegation consisting of mayors of the municipalities of Debar and Valandovo, representatives of the municipality of Kumanovo, youth officials from the municipalities of Centar, Kumanovo, Debar, and Valandovo, as well as the NGO ARNO, who also presented at the regional forum.

This forum aimed to provide a space for exchanging information related to development policies of countries of the region with a focus on youth, participation and strengthening demographic resilience in societies. Experiences, solutions, and good practices were exchanged between countries of the region through various panels and discussions.
The event marked November 15, 2022 – the day the Planet becomes home to eight billion people.
