Skopje/Tirana, December 3, 2023 - Athletes from North Macedonia secured second place in the Western Balkans inclusive basketball tournament for athletes with and without intellectual disabilities held in Tirana, Albania, over the weekend.
The event marked the International Day of Persons with Disabilities on December 3, within the framework of the youth project "Youth for Inclusion, Equality, and Trust," in collaboration with Special Olympics, UNFPA, UNDP North Macedonia, and in partnership with Special Olympics from the Western Balkans and other UN teams from the Western Balkans.
Before this, around 50 athletes with and without intellectual disabilities played on the basketball court in Skopje as part of the European Basketball Week at the inclusive event organized by Special Olympics North Macedonia with the support of UNFPA.
