Skopje, 5 April 2023 - A promotion of the Glossary of Gender-Based Violence with (Mis)use of Technology, within the bodyright campaign, with the participation of about 70 representatives of national institutions, activists, influencers and other collaborators, was held in Skopje.

The glossary aims to educate and raise awareness about digital gender-based violence that will enable better recognition and start discussions with the public, but will also encourage decision-makers and all relevant stakeholders to develop necessary protective mechanisms and support systems.

Jovanka Trencevska, Minister of Labor and Social Policy, Elizabeta Gjeorgievska, wife of the President of the Republic of North Macedonia, John Kennedy Mosoti, director of UNFPA for North Macedonia, Dr. Afrodita Shalja, Head of the UNFPA Office in Skopje, as well as numerous other feminists and supporters of the fight against violence in both the real and digital world, spoke at the event.

This event is part of UNFPA’s global campaign – bodyright. The bodyright campaign (the right to own your body online) is a global call to action to prevent violence against women and girls in virtual spaces.

In 2022, a series of events dedicated to this topic were organized in North Macedonia and in the region, and this year the campaign continues with the promotion of the Glossary (dictionary) of words related to technology-facilitated gender-based violence.

In addition to the event, the campaign continued on social media, where over 10 female influencers together with UNFPA shared materials from the bodyright campaign.
