Mavrovo, 26 July 2023 - Three-day capacity-building workshop with members of Local Youth Councils and Youth Officers from 4 municipalities - Gostivar, Ohrid, Bitola, and Veles - started today in Mavrovo.
The workshop aimed to empower the members of the Local Youth Councils and the Youth officers with the knowledge and skills to actively engage in various aspects of governance and policymaking while also fostering an understanding related to the important role of the youth council members as advocates of their peers.
The event brought together a diverse group of youth and served as an experience and knowledge-sharing platform.
The workshop covered a wide range of topics, including the significance of youth voices in shaping policies, strategies for effective advocacy, and the role of youth as activists in amplifying youth-driven initiatives. During the workshop, participants had the opportunity to jointly plan various activities related to Observance of the International Youth Day on a local level. In the upcoming period, UNFPA will support the local youth councils by providing tailor-made training to address the specific needs of the councils.
The event is within the framework of the project “Youth 4 Inclusion, Equality and Trust”, funded by the UN Peace Building Fund.
