Skopje, 28 July 2023 - An online presentation on the methods used and the elaboration of the results of returning the series of data between two censuses was held today in Skopje, with the support of the United Nations Population Fund - UNFPA.

The presentation was held by Professor Tomas Kucera, from the Department of Demography and Geodemography at Charles University in Prague, in the presence of representatives from the State Statistics Office of the Republic of North Macedonia, the national consultant of UNFPA, Dragan Tevdovski, and representatives from the UNFPA office in Skopje.

This activity is within the framework of the Migration Discourses, Evidence-Based Planning, and Policies project, implemented by UNFPA North Macedonia, IOM North Macedonia, and UNHCR-Skopje, in coordination with the UN Resident Coordinator Office.

The recalculation will provide more accurate and reliable information and will serve as a basis for planning future development activities and will also be a prerequisite for the development of population projections that will provide the necessary information about future population dynamics, which is of crucial importance for effective policy planning.
