"State of World Population – report 2013” teenage pregnancy in the countries of Eastern Europe and Central Asia is declining , but still the numbers are much higher than those in Western Europe.

In the region the highest numbers are located in Tajikistan with 54 births per 1,000 women aged 15-19 years. Next countries in the list are Georgia , Azerbaijan , Roamanija , Bulgaria and Turkey.

Teenage pregnancy is a health risk. Complications from pregnancy and childbirth are the leading causes of death of girls aged between 15 and 19 years in developing countries.

In the UNFPA report "State of World Population 2013 " there are statistics for all countries in the world followed by demographic indicators and specific indicators of particular importance for the process ICPD ( International Conference on Population and Development ) goals of the Programme of Action adopted before 20 years in Cairo .
